PUBLIC INFORMATION

WipeWire on your phone

Use WipeWire in your phone’s current browser, then optionally save a shortcut for faster access.

Use WipeWire in your browser

Open WipeWire in the browser already on your phone and sign in as usual. Your dashboard, guided setup, and operations open in that browser. You can also explore the public demo and Rust+ pairing extension guide.

An internet connection is required. A home-screen shortcut is not a native or offline app: it does not queue commands while you are offline.

Important current limits

  • Initial Rust+ extension pairing still requires desktop Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
  • Browser alerts require an open WipeWire page, browser support, and permission. Live refresh pauses while the page is hidden. Some mobile browsers cannot show these alerts; WipeWire does not provide background Web Push.
  • Your phone browser displays the WipeWire website; it does not run server automation.

iPhone: add a Safari shortcut

  1. Open your WipeWire dashboard in Safari and sign in before saving the shortcut.
  2. Open Safari’s Page menu, then Share. Depending on the layout, you may only need Share.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen. If you do not see it, use Edit Actions to look for it.
  4. Optionally choose Open as Web App, then select Add.

Apple’s menu labels and available options can vary by device and iOS version. See Apple’s current Home Screen instructions.

Android: create a Chrome shortcut

  1. Open your WipeWire dashboard in Chrome and sign in before saving the shortcut.
  2. Open Chrome’s More menu, choose Install and create shortcut, then Create shortcut.
  3. Name the shortcut and select Add.

Chrome menus and installation availability can vary. See Google’s current Android shortcut instructions.
