WipeWire Beta Terms of Service
Effective September 19, 2026 · WipeWire is currently a free, pre-release beta service.
Agreement and beta status
These Terms govern your access to and use of WipeWire, including its website, Rust+ connections, maps, device controls, alerts, Discord integration, bots, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, connecting an account or device, joining a WipeWire team, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service is in a free, pre-release beta. It may contain errors, incomplete features, security defects, inaccurate or missing data, unexpected results, outages, or compatibility problems. We may change, suspend, restrict, or discontinue any part of the beta at any time, with or without notice. Beta access does not create a promise that any feature will continue, reach general availability, or remain free.
Eligibility, authority, and your account
You must be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live and must provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for keeping your credentials and devices secure.
You represent that you have permission to connect, configure, or control every Rust server, Rust+ pairing, Steam account, Discord server, Discord channel, organization, device, switch, alarm, and data source that you use with WipeWire. Never submit passwords, Steam Guard codes, stolen tokens, another person’s credentials, or information you do not have the right to use.
What WipeWire does not guarantee
WipeWire is a companion tool, not an emergency, safety, security, monitoring, raid-detection, or life-safety service. Device commands, alerts, acknowledgements, maps, player positions, tracks, replay, timers, integrations, and status indicators can be delayed, duplicated, inaccurate, unavailable, or acted on incorrectly because of configuration, networks, game servers, third-party services, software defects, or other causes.
You are solely responsible for verifying in-game conditions and for deciding whether to act. Do not rely on WipeWire as the only protection for a base, device, inventory, server, account, person, or property. Use conservative permissions, confirm uncertain device states in game, and keep independent records or backups of anything important to you.
Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful, authorized Rust-team operations. You may not: gain unauthorized access; evade a platform restriction; interfere with, overload, probe, scrape, reverse engineer, or resell the Service or its data; use the Service to harass, stalk, threaten, dox, spam, or impersonate anyone; distribute malware; access another organization’s data; use automated means beyond documented functionality; or violate applicable law or the rules of a connected service.
Do not use WipeWire to facilitate cheating, account theft, unauthorized device control, attacks on a game service, or any activity that could harm another person, team, service, or system. We may investigate, remove access, preserve evidence, and cooperate with lawful requests where appropriate.
Third-party services and user data
The Service can interact with third-party services, including Rust+, Steam, Facepunch, Discord, hosting providers, and communication services. Their terms, policies, availability, and technical limits apply independently. WipeWire is not responsible for a third party’s content, conduct, security, availability, account decisions, policy changes, or data handling.
You retain ownership of content and data you submit, subject to the rights needed to operate the Service. You grant WipeWire a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, reproduce, transmit, adapt, and display that content and data solely to provide, secure, support, improve, and operate the Service at your direction. You are responsible for obtaining every permission needed for that license.
Feedback and feature requests
When you send a feature request, bug report, idea, suggestion, or other feedback, you keep ownership of your original words and materials. You grant WipeWire a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, adapt, implement, and communicate the submission and its ideas for WipeWire products and communications.
We do not have to use, retain, attribute, compensate, or treat feedback as confidential. We may develop similar ideas independently. Do not submit confidential, proprietary, security-sensitive, or third-party material unless you have the right to do so. Public credit is anonymous by default; any attribution requires separate permission and staff review.
Our rights and suspension
WipeWire and its visual design, code, branding, documentation, and other Service materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the beta for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
We may suspend or terminate access, remove or disable integrations, or limit functionality when we reasonably believe it is needed for security, reliability, cost control, abuse prevention, legal compliance, third-party requirements, or a violation of these Terms. We are not required to preserve beta data after suspension or termination.
Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WIPEWIRE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AVAILABILITY, SECURITY, AND ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR THAT DATA, OUTPUTS, OR DEVICE RESULTS WILL BE COMPLETE, TIMELY, OR CORRECT.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WIPEWIRE AND ITS OPERATOR, CONTRIBUTORS, SUPPLIERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES; LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR GAME PROGRESS; SERVICE INTERRUPTION; COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES; OR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF US $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID WIPEWIRE FOR THE SERVICE IN THE THREE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Because the beta is free, this limit will usually be US $100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be limited or waived.
Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WipeWire and its operator, contributors, suppliers, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from your content, your connections or device controls, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s or service’s rights.
Changes and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, security, or operations. We will post the updated effective date here. Continued use after an update becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.
Questions about these Terms or a reported issue can be sent through the WipeWire Support page. Before public commercial launch, WipeWire will complete an operator-contact, governing-law, venue, and dispute-resolution review with qualified counsel. Nothing here overrides protections that applicable law gives you.
Independence
WipeWire is an independent Rust companion service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Facepunch Studios, Valve, Steam, Discord, or uMod.
